Annotations

Annotations is the process of highlighting areas in a Document Management page.

The Annotation button displays the different types of annotations available:

Type
None Annotations are disabled.
Note Sticky notes are created.
Stamp Rubber stamp notes are created.
Yellow Areas are highlighted yellow.
Pink Areas are highlighted pink.
Blue Areas are highlighted blue.
Green Area are highlighted green.

 

Selecting a tool

Simply use the menu to select the type of annotaion that you want to create.  Here we select the yellow highlighter:

 

Creating the annotation

Once you have selected the tool, click on the image, a set of area handles will be shown.  Keep the mouse button down, and move the mouse to select the area to be covered:

Once you release the mouse the annotation will display:

 

Selecting the annotation

A page can hold any number of annotation, as shown here:

Simply click on any annotation to select it for editing.  The handles will be shown for the selected annotation.

 

Moving/Resizing the annotation

You can change the size and location of the selected annotation by clicking on any handle and while holding the mouse down, moving the mouse to the new shape.  The location is changed by clicking the mouse in the body of the annotation.

 

Editing the annotation

You can change the settings for the selected annotation by right-clicking on the annotation.  A menu will be shown:

Command
Delete Delete the annotation.
Bring to front The annotation will be shown in front of overlapping annotations.
Send to back The annotation will be shown behind any overlapping annotation.
Back Color Sets the color of the background for the annotation.
Transparency Sets how much you can see through for the annotation.
Border Color Sets the color of the border.
Width Sets the width of the border.
Copy Image Copies the image underneath the annotation.
Copy Text Copies the image underneath the annotation as text.  OCR option must be installed.
Edit Sets the text of the annotation.  Note and Stamp only.
Fore Color Sets the color of the text in the annotation.  Note and Stamp only.
Font The font to be used for text.  Note and Stamp only.
